Horse’s Day

INTRODUCTION:

Hi!! I am Nuri Galí Bellapart, I am sixteen years old and I have lived all my life in Castelló d’Empúries. I like animals a lot but I don’t like cats I’m afraid of them and I panic. My favourite animals are horses. I have got two horses a mare whose name’s Estrella and a horse whose name’s Beauty. I started riding horses when I was ten or eleven years old. Every weekend I go to the Aiguamolls Riding School in the morning to ride horses and I like horse jumping. Well now I want to speak about the horse’s day in Aiguamolls Riding School.

CLASS:

We have to wear a suitable equipment ( boots, jodhpurs ( special trousers…). When we arrive we go to search horse in the field or in the stable. At first you have to brush your horse and after you have to put the saddle on and the bridle and the protectors of the horse’s feet.

Before riding a horse you have to wear a helmet, it is compulsory for security, and then we go to the outdoor track. First we get in line and our teacher is in the middle of the atdoortrack and she does the class. The class is in four parts: the first part is a pass and the teacher tells us the figures that we must do for example: to form a circle or to make a streamer and a lot of figures and we have to have a good posture on the horse and we have to control the horse and this is repeated in the second and third art because the second is to trot and the third is to gallop, this is an example that we do in class. We have to lift our legs for five minutes too. Finally the fourth part consists in jumping. The teacher prepares a circuit of jumps and we jump our horse and sometimes the teacher puts a tracksuit or blanket on the jump so that the horse has to fet used to jumping other “obstacles”, This is called cross, It is another kind of jump. We use this so that the horse isn’t afraid.

FINALLY:

When we have finished the class we walk the horse and afterwards we take away the protector and the saddle and bridle and we have to clean its hooves and give her a shower. Then we take it to the field or stable. I have to choose this team because I think that it is interesting to find out about horse business.
