Ave clips the wings of air service

In Catalonia there is a demand for the Ave, ( a high-speed train), between Barcelona and Madrid. The Ave is better than plane to go between Barcelona and Madrid because on Ave you can eat in a restaurant and it is more comfortable than the plane. To travel on the Ave is cheaper than to travel on plane because to travel on the Ave costs about sixty euros less than to travel by plane. The “Prat” slips in wake of train. El Prat Airport is down 5.3% this year and in the pont aeri too. Now the only growth in airport is in international flights because we think that because there is now the Ave and people use them in national traffic.

Migrants opting for domestic work

In Catalonia the migrants opting for domestic work, a woman vacuuming a living room or helping a senior citizen to have a walk. In Catalonia, the domestic services have increased- a lagging construction sector as the industry for migrants. The migrants work as domestic services because they don’t pay taxes and they don’t receive any benefits. The domestic service sector absorbs 16% of immigrants that lack work papers and if we compare it to the hospitality industry 13% and 6% in the industry sector. The industry sector depends on the union, this union is called Union Comissions Obreres (It’s a very important syndicate in Spain and Catalonia). A lot of migrants help senior citizens go about their activities. So they have a house and there is a meal every day and they have to look after the old person.
